conversion of ambulance to regular machine in Czech.

Ambulance – Call czech subdivision of Mercedes and ask where is possible the change, or Ministery of transporation should keep a list of registered companies, which can do it. He (technical guy from register – 236005436/236005424)recommended company Tomcar Maršovice. There you can also find you if the van needs a tachograph.
-          compulsory insurance
-          technical inspection STK (http://www.nejblizsi-stk.cz/praha), they also do registration check (you need the form „Protokol o shodě/ Certificate of Compliance for registration)
-          take with purchase contract wherever you go
-          Registration on Vyšehrad office (236005491)of register if it needs eco fee

 Hi Tom Car,

Excuse this email not being in Czech language, i hope its ok?

Can you help with the conversion of an ambulance to a drivable vehicle? Can you also help with STK?

Story..I've just purchased this Mercedes sprinter Ambulance from 2002, pictures of it attached to this email. I'm told by the man at the ambulance station that the van had a new motor put into it at the start of last year and that it has been recently serviced.  I have a contract that proves I've bought the van, yet the van needs papers to be registered, possibly changed to a recreational vehicle. Provided the machine needs just a basic service, what costs are involved to get this machine driving? I have a class C Australian license.

If you could outline the costs involved in getting all the papers, including the tow from the ambulance centre to you?

Your help would be much appreciated.

regards,

jam

reality of condition

The good news is that the van is in good condition. Thing runs basically as it should. These vans had to be serviced often, so although they were used a lot, the vans are in basically good condition. The problem is that the Tachograph is not with the van. Yet i can get another one, the other option is to see if the weight might be less, so it can be registered as a regular one. In a way though, maybe its good that its of the other weight, as then i have to drive the beast, so its not going to be messed around by someone else. I'll have to see how it goes. I have a class C license, so i can drive it. So the van drives well and its a good one, yet maybe it has some problems with it as well. Time will tell.

So in order to drive a lorry you need to have one of these with the van. They are costing a lot out of Germany, yet in eBay Germany, i managed to buy two of them quite cheap. What happens with them is the battery goes dead, so this needs to be replaced and then its likely that one of them will work, so i hope that means its going to be ok.
VDO DTCO 1381 Digitaler Tachograph 12V Rel. 1.0a Defekt
trucks - Transportation Actia Tachograph smart sevel 2 Type SmarTach STD II F2
These are the two brands that i bought. Although they said they would not ship them to Czech, they did in the end sell them to me, just added slightly more for shipping. I think its all fair.

how the listing looked.

translation.
Facilities: The vehicle is without equipment - (without tachograph) Vehicle condition: Mobile, vehicle body, frame, axles, springs and brakes exhibit considerable wear and corrosion. Disorders paint and deformation of the entire body. Broken electrical extensions, problematic fuel system for leaks. A dead battery. The vehicle out of service in 2013. expired! TK + E. Overall, poor technical condition of the vehicle corresponds to the age and the total number of kilometers driven in a demanding operation of emergency medical services. The vehicle is completely unfit for road.

the van story- this is more for my record, yet i think its interesting to write about the whole process

Well i bought this van ambulance. I think to move all the things to the new warehouse and then turn the van into a coffee shop. First step was buy the van at auction. I bought it, paid 40,000 Czech crowns, yet the government department that listed it, made a mistake with the motor and year, so think to ask for a discount. Yet the price is good as is. Yet still the other vans sold for less.

So this is what it looks like, as i bought.
description of all listing is the same.

on the way to walking to the van i saw this.

So i will write to Aukro, and ask them how to solve the problem of the van and the listing and if I should get a better price for it.
